Real files, not a hidden database

Every document is an ordinary file in a folder you can open yourself:

It's a live mirror — add a file in your file manager and it shows up in Rostyman; edit it in Rostyman and any other tool sees the change.

Commit the folder to git, back it up, or open it in any other editor — nothing is locked in.

Double-click to open — only if you want it

Choose which file types Rostyman opens from your file manager on Windows, macOS and Linux — from Settings → Specifications or a one-time prompt, with a handy Select all. Double-clicking opens the file in Rostyman even when the app isn't running yet.

Opt-in, never assumed

Nothing is claimed at install. Rostyman only becomes the default for the types you tick.

Honest status

The status you see is what your operating system reports back — not a guess.

Clean uninstall

Uninstalling Rostyman restores the apps you used before as the defaults.

Your documents stay yours.

Like everything in Rostyman, Specifications runs entirely on your machine. No account, no cloud upload, no sync you didn't ask for — just files in a folder you control.
